Paper Chase Farms was established in 1985 in Middleburg, Virginia by Jan Neuharth, a Los Angeles lawyer, and Joseph Keusch, a professional horseman from Switzerland. Under their guidance and direction, Paper Chase Farms came to be regarded as one of the premier equestrian facilities of its kind, offering boarding, lessons, training, sales, clinics, horse shows and celebrity events. In 1996, Paper Chase Farms, Inc. launched Paper Chase Consulting and Paper Chase Productions, divisions offering equestrian consulting and the development and sales of horse products. In 2003, the company expanded to include book publishing through Paper Chase Farms Publishing Group. Neuharth and Keusch sold the equestrian center facility in 2000 to the Hanley family, who named their new horse farm Fox Chase Farm. Joseph Keusch continues to teach and train at his private farm in Middleburg.
